I’m writing this a couple of hours after the film finished and am probably going to struggles to do justice to this film. It’s a war movie, but it’s also a movie showing relationships. Be prepared to be shocked by the war scenes, they’re very realistic, my hands flew to my mouth more than once and I’m sure I exclaimed out loud several times! This is a remarkable film telling the story of a remarkable man at a terrible time in history. Of the 13 films I’ve seen so far this, and I’ve seen some great pieces of work, this is the one that has left me breathless. It’s not for the faint hearted but wow it’s an amazing film! If this doesn’t win Oscars I’ll be amazed!
Will You learn anything – it will reinforce the horror of war and portray bravery beyond imagination
Did I cry? I was close to crying for a lot of the film
Will you cry? I’d be amazed if you didn’t
Worth watching at the cinema? 100% yes! It’s a breathtaking film!
