This was one I’d been waiting for, having walked into the wrong screen a week ago, lesson learnt! This was the film that won the ‘Best Film’ Oscar as well as Best Supporting Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay, I was hoping it’d live up to those awards. I have to say for me it really did! The tale of a young black man, making his way through life at a disadvantage in the society he was growing up in. 3 actors played Chiron from the age of around 9 or 10 to adulthood. The acting was wonderful to watch across the board as it dealt with a young black man who was ‘different’ – I thoroughly enjoyed every minute!
Did I cry? I didn’t, which quite surprised me!
Will you cry? Maybe
Worth watching at the cinema? Most certainly, it had me glued to the screen!
