I’d never see a Planet of The Apes at the cinema, in fact I’d never seen a modern day version. I have to say I’m glad I went to see this one, I thoroughly enjoyed it, I’m of the opinion that if Woody Harrelson features you’re going to see something good. This is clearly fantasy, but I felt an affinity with these Apes, I wanted them to win! Well worth watching.
Film 42 – Dunkirk – 12A – 106 Minutes

This is a truly amazing film, a lot of what was written about it involved moaning about Harry Styles, the thing is, there are no main parts in this film, and what Harry did he did well. The film tells the story if Dunkirk from so many different angles, the trapped soldiers, the civilian boat owners, the RAF and all were well covered and realistic from where I was watching. A must see film!

This film was a wildcard for me, I was at the Oval to watch England play cricket when the heavens opened making the cinema a good option. I knew nothing about this film, but I’m very glad I went to see it, it’s laugh out loud funny! The tale of 4 old friends at different points in their lives, their adventures on this trip are hysterical!
Film 44 – Cars 3 – U – 102 Minutes

Another rainy day film, and I did have the company of an 11 year old, Ochenahi and his Mum Janet. Not a lot to say, but I enjoyed the film, the graphics were good and the storyline held me. I didn’t enjoy the small children in the cinema so much, but it goes with the territiroy I guess!

In a week where there weren’t many films I fancied this one was well worth going to see. I imagine the film will be like a dream come true for fans of Charlize Theron, for me it was a violent, in an unrealistic way, yet entertaining film, the goodies won in the end, after an awful lot of death and blood shed. Again James McAvoy has become a great actor, he played his part really well. A film with a twist, great entertainment!
